Carly Maeda
Carly is a pianist, teacher, and coach based in the greater Twin Cities area. She has been playing piano since the age of 9, and has a variety of different skill sets including classical, contemporary, and worship. She grew up playing for a variety of different churches, soloists, and ensembles. She also grew up competing, receiving multiple awards and scholarships for college. Carly received a ministry degree with a music emphasis from the University of Northwestern, and taught private lessons during college. Having four younger siblings, she loves working with kids, and incorporates games and other teaching strategies to help younger students focus and have fun during lessons.
In her free time, Carly enjoys spending time with her husband, Micah, and Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler puppy, Mochi! She enjoys spending time outdoors by hiking, relaxing in a hammock, and walking around lakes. When she’s not outside or playing with Mochi, you can find her reading a good book, or baking cookies and other treats.

Teaching Philosophy
I believe teaching should be fun and catered to the student’s needs and personal goals. I aim to make lessons fun and inviting by learning the student’s interests and incorporating them into the lesson. I love to make games a part of lessons, capturing students’ attention and making the time an enjoyable environment.
