Jackson Catton
My love for music started with growing up on my dad’s classic rock radio. I then started taking my first piano lessons at 7 years old. Two years later I got my first guitar and I haven’t put it down since. My diverse array of experiences since then have included touring all over the US and Canada with my bands, writing and recording albums, playing in orchestra pits, jazz combos, worship bands, and much more.
In my teaching, I place an emphasis on a music-first approach to guitar, striking a balance between learning the music you want to play, and building a foundation in technique and theory that’ll help you achieve your goals. If you’re interested in rock, folk, pop, metal, blues, electronic, songwriting, theory, and anything in between, look no further!
In my free time I like cooking, making music with my friends, the occasional video game binge, and going on adventures with my dog, Hamp.
