Jake Larson

I’m Jake! I’m an artist and songwriter from Minneapolis. I have been playing guitar and writing songs for over a decade in acts like The Fairlead (Post-Rock), Apollos (Alt-Rock), Syvers (Indie Folk) and Heartsong (Country-Gospel). I’ve shared the stage with acts like Switchfoot, Gungor, Caspian, and Kutless and self-booked tours around the Midwest. Most of my academic training came through my time at the University of Northwestern, St. Paul where I received a B.S. in Music Ministry after completing my education program. Most of my day-to-day work now consists of playing lead guitar and/or singing at Eagle Brook Church for their youth and weekend services in addition to producing songs on my current project list and playing live music, typically around the metro.

Over the course of my career, I have found building relationships and helping others discover their gifts and passions in creativity to be extremely rewarding. This passion is what motivates me to teach lessons. I love seeing people connect to the dots for the first time, nerding out about guitar gear, and having a consistent time each week to connect on personal level with another human being.

I’m willing to work in whatever ways possible to help you discover your own unique sound as an artist. I believe that nobody plays guitar exactly the same way, so every student needs a different approach. I love to bring new ideas that challenge your preferences and help bring you outside of your comfort zone, but only to help you thrive more in playing and learning the kinds of music you’re passionate about. Would love to have the opportunity to be a part of your music journey!
