A Minnesota native, Peter has been surrounded by music since he was a child. At a young age, he became fascinated with brothers sheet music, and pretended to play along with father’s records on toy instruments. Following after his brother, Peter started taking piano lessons at the age of eight and also began taking Upright Bass in his schools orchestra. Through middle and high school, Peter played in multiple bands and continued to teach himself electric bass, guitar, harmonica, and any other instrument he could get his hands on.
After graduating from Hopkins High school, Peter began honing his skills at Normandale Community College in their nationally accredited music program and received his Associate in Fine Arts for Upright Bass in 2018. Peter considers himself a singer/songwriter and multi instrumentalist. He strives to be a versatile musician that can sit in with any group. He loves to teach, play and write all styles of music from Rock, Jazz, Blues, Classical, Funk, Soul, Pop, Country, R&B, Hip Hop and more. In addition to giving instrumental lesson, Peter also teaches classes in Ear Training, Music Theory, Songwriting, and Composition.
Peter believes in finding joy through music but also developing the craft. His goal is to create a positive, friendly learning environment where patients is key. Peter gives a large emphasis to improvisation, as well as building a strong foundation of Ear Training and Music Theory. Peter currently teaches after school lessons in Edina, as well as private lessons, and continues to play with various bands in and around the Twin Cities.
