Teaching Philosophy

Above all, making music should be fun! I strive to ensure each of my students play music that THEY enjoy playing, not just some assignment I give to you. Lessons will always be goal oriented – what do you want to accomplish this week? This month? This year? It is my job to help you figure out what your goals are and how to get you there. Transcriptions, listening projects, fundamentals, and wind-playing technique will be incorporated in every lesson.
