Born and raised in Minnesota, Tony Omodt-Lopez has always loved music. He started his first band when he was just 10 years old and hasn’t stopped rocking out ever since! His passion for performing eventually lead him to the world of theatre, and throughout high school he performed professionally in a variety of productions around Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Shortly thereafter, at the age of 19 he graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts Performance Creation. Meanwhile, Tony never stopped making music; constantly writing, learning, and recording songs, honing his skills as a multi-instrumentalist and singer, and playing regularly around town. He has been in a variety of groups ranging from rock bands to big bands and has experience leading singers and musicians with a wide range of ages and experience levels in a multitude of different settings.
His number one priority when teaching is fostering a love and passion for music in his students. He aims to create a fun, energized, and immensely creative space in which his students can learn, grow, and develop as musicians without ever losing touch with the joy music can bring.
When he’s not making or teaching music, Tony loves spending time with his significant other, playing with his dog, cooking, and watching old movies.
