James Plante

A native Minnesotan, James Plante is known for his quirky characters and dynamic energy on and off the stage. James has performed with many of the venues in Minneapolis and the Twin Cities such as; The Minnesota Opera, University of Minnesota, Mill City Summer Opera, Lyric Arts, and Theatre Latte Da.

After receiving his Bachelor of Music in Voice from the University of Minnesota, James furthered his studies at the University of Kansas, earning a Master of Music in Opera Performance. He also sang with The Lyric Opera of Kansas City as a resident artist.

James has spent the better part of the last decade in NYC honing his skills teaching and performing off-Broadway and regionally. In addition to performing, James is passionate about cooking, cars, D&D (shhh!!), and petting every dog he walks by on the street.

“My objective is to provide students with a singing technique and performance practices that are
understandable, reliable, and fun so they can bring their art to life in their own, unique
way. I also strive to be a positive role model for my students within their musical career
and their everyday lives.”
