Josue Rios Lopez

Josue Rios Lopez is a Mexican American musician and educator from Dallas, Texas and a graduate from Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Musical Arts and minor in Creative Writing. In 2023, he won a DownBeat Award for his work with the Lawrence University Jazz Band directed by Jose Encarnacion. Josue has been teaching guitar, electric bass and piano for three years in Wisconsin, instructing and guiding students of all ages in genres ranging from jazz, RnB, classical, pop, metal, punk and many more.
Josue performed at the inaugural Door County Jazz Fest with his jazz trio in the summer of 2025 and has since gone to perform all across the nation from New York City to Honolulu, Hawaii. Over the last six years, he has recorded and performed with bands and artists like Noir, Lyle’s Tree, Roach, Miranda Lile, The Yeti In Texas and his own work under the name Red Teddy. In his free time Josue enjoys reading, watching tv, writing and hanging out with friends.

Cancellation Policy
Lessons cancelled within 24 hours will be considered paid with no makeup guaranteed. Certain exceptions may be made at the discretion of the instructor.
Teaching Philosophy
Any person’s relationship with music is unique and personal. There is rarely a one size fits all in this regard. Music education and its approach is equally as unique and personal. Josue intends on delivering instruction personalized to each and every student based on their taste, goals and aspiration, assuring that any material is studied to high proficiency and in a fun, comfortable, and welcoming environment.
