Over spring break, my family and I went on one of the most epic adventures of our lives to Canyonlands and Arches National Parks in Utah. We have traveled and explored Utah many times, and intend to keep going back there. In our March newsletter, I talked about how I trust my team 100% to take good care of Opus while I am gone. I was going to be in the wilderness most of the time, and being connected wirelessly was going to be very minimal.
I have to share a little more of my experience. Not only did they take care of the school, I came back to work on March 31st to a school that was better than when I left it. How many business owners can say that? My leadership team even took on some of the tasks that I typically do exclusively, without even asking or expecting them to. Madeline (our VP extraordinaire) even told me “now don’t work on your vacation!”. Yes ma’am! I came back feeling completely revitalized, and I felt like myself again. My family and I are AVID lovers of the outdoors, and it had been a while since we could do the things we love most: being in nature. It’s so important that we all take extended breaks, if we can, and be disconnected from technology. It’s a time to reconnect with ourselves and remember what life is all about.
I’ve come back to my school a better person to my team, my family, and my friends. I am motivated and excited to serve you even better than before, and I am honored to have this responsibility. Thank you for trusting me, and for trusting Opus Music Academy! Now go make some music!
Yours in humble service,
Kathy Petersen
